Changing the density of water

To rectify stability calculations, you can modify the water density depending on the vessel schedule and service. The density of water is a result of temperature, salinity, and pressure, so the following will all influence the water density that you want to use for calculating a vessel's stability:

• Sailing in winter or summer

• Sailing in fresh water or sea water

• Sailing into northern oceans or tropical regions

To change the water density:

1. From the Vessel menu, select Water Density.

2. In the Water Density dialog box, enter the required density.

3. Click Save.

N4 saves the information and recalculates the vessel's stability.
